Sure, you probably have a lot of questions.  We’ll try to answer the most common ones right here:

Q: Do I need to be home?

A: Many customers prefer to be there the first time just to get the maids started and pointed in the right direction. But if not, there are many ways we can arrange access.  All of our Award-Winning maids are bonded, insured, and best of all, trustworthy!  Based on our conversation, they will know what to expect and what you want done.

Many customers prefer not to be there while the maids are cleaning.  If, like many of our customers, you would like us to hold a key, be assured that keys are kept on a coded key tag in a locked key safe in a locked office.

Q: Do you provide your own supplies?

A: Yes, we provide everything the maids will need to clean your home, but if you have any special chemicals or equipment you would prefer the maids to use, that’s fine too.  The maids will always arrive with everything they should need to clean your home.  They will have cleaning chemicals, buckets, mops, brooms, two vacuums, and rags.  Most of our cleaning chemicals are Earth-friendly, some are fragrant and others are not–please let us know about any preferences you might have.

And if you have any allergies or sensitivities please be sure to let us know so we can make the appropriate adjustment to the products we use in your home.

Q:  What about payment?

A: Payment is expected at time of service.  We can accept cash, check, or charge.  We currently accept MasterCard, Visa, AMEX, and Discover but we ask that if you plan to pay by credit card, please make arrangements beforehand.  The maids will NOT have equipment to accept credit cards when they arrive.

Q:  How much do you charge what are you rates?

A: Cleaning is a time-based service.  We will provide a good faith estimate at the time you book your first appointment.  The estimate will be based on the information you give us and because of our extensive experience, we can generally get quite close to the final cost.  But your first appointment will almost always be an hourly rate.  If you are uncomfortable with an hourly rate we can cap the amount, not to exceed whatever figure you decide.

Q: Will you send the same maids all the time?

A: Over the years, we have found that consistency makes sense.  You may see a new face now and then, but because our maids work in teams, you always see a familiar face who knows your house and how you like things.  If at any time you feel like you would like a complete change, we are more than happy to accommodate.

Q: What are your hours?

A: We generally schedule the first house for 9:00 AM and like the maids to be back in the office by 5:00 PM.  Monday through Friday.  We can very often accommodate an 8:00 AM cleaning  and very often on a Saturday or Sunday.  These are not regularly scheduled times but we want to work with you, so please feel free to ask.

Q: Will they arrive on time?

A: We will give you an approximate time when you book your appointment and confirm it the day before.  Unfortunately, there are many variables that we cannot control, so we always speak in 30 minute windows of arrival.  Overall, our on-time record is better than the airlines.

Q:  Do you have references?

A: Most definitely.  Please refer to our Testimonials page.

Q:  What exactly is your guarantee?

A: We offer a 100% satisfaction guarantee. If we missed something and you are not satisfied with your cleaning, simply notify us within 24 hours of the cleaning and we will send the maids again to correct the problem at no additional charge.

Q:  What about contracts?

A: At Custom Maid we don’t believe in contracts.  We do believe that as long as we do a great job for a great price you will continue to use our service.

Q:  Are the maids bonded and insured?  And what the heck is bonding anyway?

A:  Yes all of our maids are bonded and insured.  Bonding is an extra layer of protection for you.
